The crash of Northwest Flight 2501 into Lake Michigan just minutes after midnight on Saturday June 24, 1950 EST
represented the worst United States  commercial aviation disaster at that time. The wreckage was never located, the cause of the crash could not be determined, and the incident was soon forgotten.  A half century later, a dedicated team of people is attempting to locate the remains of the DC-4 and solve the mystery of its loss.
    This site is dedicated in memory of the 58 precious souls lost in this tragic accident.
